Goodwood Ontario (aka Schitt’s Creek), with a population of 663, is approximately a 40 minute drive North of Toronto. Producer Kenneth GERARD was having car troubles on his way to work at a film studio. I stopped to ask if any help was needed. While conversing with one another, BYOTA’s film and it’s future was discussed. So was the search for the ‘Byota Man’, Jacques. In an interview, Annie MURPHY who played Alexis on Schitt’s Creek, calling Annina’s Bake Shop and Catering “the best bakery,” is why Annina’s was chosen for my audition for the role. Jacques – The Byota Man, is a caretaker to the islands and a masseur. The real Jack loves nature and animals, especially horses. Learning how to turn the love of animals is a rewarding job and entertaining to me. I also enjoy travel blogging, odd job carpentry, mechanics, and performing vehicle repairs. Jack playing Jacques. An interesting match? Thank you Annina’s for being there for me. Jack BLANCHETTE (Jacques)

“Where the rails and waters meet”. Ranked 15th in a nation of 25 best places to live and work remotely in Canada (in 2021) by Maclean’s magazine, Welland is also my home. I studied animal care and grooming enabling me to become the owner and co-founder of Red Dog Rescue , which is a non-profit business which saves and re-homes life-threatened dogs and puppies. I also work part time in the health care field assisting members of the community with both emergent and non-emergent issues. One of my ‘things in life’ was to become an actress. The casting call I saw on the social media advertisement was an exciting opportunity for me. I was chosen to play the role of Emme – a Cookie Cutter Writer and Travel Blogger in the latest BYOTA Cinematic Film Production by Canadian producer Joseph Kenneth Gerard and Turkish director Erdem Calis. The 1960’s era meets today’s world. How? You ask?... Just the kind of “fun” project I was waiting for. Robyn HASLAM (Emme)

"There are about 8 flamingos on the beach. They just walk around and mind their own business most of the time. They won't come up to you unless you have food, and even then sometimes they'll still ignore you if they're not hungry. All of the flamingos were so gentle and would eat right out of your hands, except for one. One of the big ones was CRAZY, and no one warned me about him ahead of time! Not once did he just eat the food out of my hand but would completely LUNGE for it. I never ended up feeding him because he would scare me, and I dropped all the food! He would also attack people and things completely unprovoked. He jabbed me in the back and in the arm a few times when I didn't even have food. He even went after my camera. So I'm warning you now, Flamingo Beach in Aruba is an absolute dream - but there is one lunatic that you need to watch out for! Apparently he's been there 11 years, so he thinks he owns the place."
